Incase you didn't see the latest update, please, please, please comment on this post and let me know you are still interested in participating in the book! So far there have only been three responders...

I cannot have inactive members here because it means there is less likelihood that the book will make it full circle. Im sure you all understand this, and want the project to succeed just as badly as I do.

Because of this, I am afraid that if you do not comment on the entry (linked above) after a period of two weeks, you will be removed from the community, however you are free to join up again at anytime.

UPDATE! Dec. 9th, 2005 @ 11:58 am
I am planning on buying our journal right after Christmas, and will send it out during the first week of January, just after the Christmas rush is over. (Just so that it has a little less chance of getting lost!)

This means it is really time to get cracking with gathering addresses!

Below is a list of people who's addresses I collected previously.
To the four of you, if you have had a recent address change, please e-mail me the correct one!

To anyone else, please go ahead and send them in!
My e-mail addy is dark_winged_pixie(at)hotmail(dot)com.

Also, because the community has been a little inactive lately, please respond to this post to let me know you are alive and still interested in participating in this project!

As always, ideas and suggestions are always welcome!

I realize I havent posted in ages. Things are really busy, and my money situation has not improved at all. I still want to get this off the ground, but with the way things are looking right now it might be a while. I hope that all of you are willing to stick by this and wait it out. As soon as I get a job or some type of income things will become much easyer.

Hey people of the notebook!

You may have noticed that our lovely host, hybercon hasn't posted in a while and that this has been because of internet troubles at her place and some money problems :( poor gal. So I'd like to try and figure out a plan we can email her / comment on her LJ with (hopefully she is being able to pick up email at her work or where ever) which will mean she doesn't have to pay very much for the note book or for postage to the first person...here goes:

How about she buys just a plain scrap book, any old thingy, from like a £1 store, or Saver Store (I don't know what sort of cheap places there are in other countries) and to make it prettier and special we all put a passport sized photo of ourselves on the front with our LJ username and the page number on which our info can be found? Any good?

As for the cost of postage hybercon can post it to the person geographically nearest to herself.
Here's where there are two ideas for you all to mull over:
a) on a scrap of paper inside the book hybercon can write the LJ name (for privacy) and street address of the person to send the note book to next and then when it gets to that person they email for another address ( I think this was meant to be something like the original plan, which I dont think will work if there is no internet connection)
b) Are you all willing to have street addresses and Lj names made into a list and diaplayed on a passworded protected webpage (only members of notebook will be given the password and be able to access it - I'd be more than happy to set up a secure site for this to be on) so we can see the order of sending, who to send to when we receive it personally and how far it has got (this would work if when someone received it they emailed me with their Lj name so I could put "recieved" or change the font colour or something to let everyone know what was going on, the same thing with when you have sent it, you could email me something like " 'your username' sent to 'next person's username' " so everyone could see when the book was in transit.)

I do hope I havent been to presumptuous in putting up my ideas and trying to get this notebook rolling but I am sure all of you are as eager to see the start of it as I am =D

So, feedback would be great, I dont want to try emailing hybercon if all of you think this is a dumb idea!

Alright. Unfortunately the internet problem at my apartment remains unsolved.
I will have the internet where I am staying for the next few days, so tomorrow I will look some more for a journal and post a picture of it to get everyone's opinions.
I will post a list of addresses I still need sometime within the next few days. Please get these to me soon!

I shall post more shortly. Thank you so much for your patience during my lack of both money and internet.
